Peechi Dam is a popular tourist destination and is one of the oldest dams in the state. E. Ikkanda Warrier, the last prime minister of the independent state of Kochi, commissioned the dam from 1948-14949. The dam is built across river Manali.

The dam meets the drinking water requirements of the district. It is a fantastic picnic spot with boating facilities. Visitors enjoy the unspoiled surrounding and well-laid-out gardens. You can soak in the atmosphere in the well-manicured gardens near the dam.

Visit the Peechi-Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary that is close to the dam. The sanctuary is spread over 125 square km. It is home to animals like bison, deer, and tiger.

The dam provides a fantastic view of the sanctuary. Watching the sunrise from the dam is a surreal experience.

Hello Richa, Alcohol is not served in houseboat. However you can get it from the givernment approved shops for your personal consumption on the way and consume in the houseboat
