Day 1
Arrival & Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple Experience
Your journey begins with arrival in Kannur, where you will be picked up from the airport, railway station, or bus stand and transferred to your homestay or resort for check-in. After some relaxation, proceed to visit the sacred Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple, one of the most famous spiritual attractions in Kerala.
The temple is renowned for its unique Muthappan worship and daily Theyyam ritual performances, offering a deeply cultural and spiritual experience. You can attend the temple rituals during morning (5:30 AM – 12:00 PM) or evening (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM) timings, where Theyyam is performed as a living tradition.
Visitors are advised to follow the temple dress code, with men wearing mundu or dhoti (shirts removed inside the sanctum) and women in saree or modest ethnic wear. A highlight of the visit is the traditional “Vechootu” meal, served to devotees as part of the temple’s sacred practice. After experiencing the rituals and serene riverside surroundings, return to your resort for an overnight stay.
