Kuzhupilly Beach Overview

Kuzhupilly Beach has recently been recognized by the Ernakulam District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) as a potential tourist spot in Kerala. The DTPC aims to promote it as part of a tourism circuit connecting Kuzhuppilly, Cherai, and Munambam. The beach is named after a small village called Kuzhupilly. The road leading to the beach from the village is also a picturesque one. You will see Kochi backwaters on both sides during your journey. 

The beach is a part of the Vypeen Islands. Kuzhupilly Beach is 21 kilometres away from Kochi. Those visiting Ernakulam always come here to spend time with family, friends, and spouses. It takes only 40 minutes to reach the beach from Ernakulam. 

At Kuzhupilly Beach, the sea is calm and hence ideal for swimming. It is wonderful to see the small canopies lined up along the golden sand. The paddy fields and coconut groves add to the charming beach vibes. Many tourists visit Kuzhupilly Beach to enjoy its beautiful sunset scenery.

Kuzhupilly Beach is also the official venue for the annual Kite Festival which has been organized here since 2000 and is an integral part of Kochi tourism.

• Take your camera. You can take pictures of the fishermen catching fish from aboard their boats. 
• Prawn farming is a means of livelihood for the fishermen of Kuzhupilly Beach. You can have a different kind of experience when you visit one such Prawn farm. You can arrange a prawn farm visit with the help of your tour operator.

Tips to Remember

• Surprisingly there are no shops except tea shops in the area. It is wise to carry your food. Otherwise, you have to wait until you reach Cherai. It is around 4 Kilometers away. Here, you will find Kerala Seafood. 
• Visit Kuzhupilly Beach before sunset to make the most out of your trip.  The sunset view is amazing. 
• Use a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.

Nearest railway station:   Ernakulam Junction is the nearest railway station. It is about 24 kilometres away. 

Nearest airport: Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport to Kuzhupilly beach. It is around 30 kilometres away.

Kuzhupilly Beach House
