Cherai is a lovely beach bordering Vypeen Island and is ideal for swimming. Dolphins are occasionally seen here. There are a couple of simple cafes and guesthouses too. A typical Kerala village with paddy fields and coconut groves nearby adds a magical vibe to the whole landscape of this beach.

The 15 km long golden beach is very clean and shallow and attracts enthusiasts of swimming and sunbathing. This is one of those few places where we can see the lagoon (poyil) and the ocean separated only by a few hundred meters. One of the main events on this beach is the Tourism Fest during December, a must-attend for travelers.

Cherai Beach is near Vypeen Island in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. It is an ideal spot for swimming and viewing the Chinese fishing nets, also called the Cheena Vala.

Can I get Alchohol in Houseboat?

Hello Richa, Alcohol is not served in houseboat. However you can get it from the givernment approved shops for your personal consumption on the way and consume in the houseboat
