Nehru Trophy Boat Race is the most famous of the snake boat races of Indiawhich is named after the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. He visited Alleppey in 1952 and was enthralled by the spectatcular water carnival in which the Snake Boats with 100 to 200 oarsmen plough the waters to the tune the folk songs. and once he returned he instituted the Nehru Trophy.
67th Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2024 will be held on 10th August, 2024
Nehru Trophy supports the sense of fraternity among the people in Kerala and is a popular spectacle for the tourists from all over the world and usually it is held on seond saturday of August every year. This year the boat race got shifted because of the floods in Kerala.

Nehru Trophy Boat Race is preceded by the colourful boat pageantry, which precedes the boat race, is a marvelous treat to the onlookers. The team that wins Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Race gets the Nehru Trophy replica of a snake-boat in silver, placed on wooden abacus on which words of Panditji are inscribed above his signature.

Day 1
Kochi Airport to Alleppey Resort
When you reach Kochi Airport, you will be met by our representative and we will proceed to luxury resort in Alleppey. After breakfast spend some leisure time in resort and proceed to Alleppey Nehru trophy Finishing Point. Enjoy the scenes in a Kerala country side in the drive towards Alleppey.
