Is Kerala good for Israelis?
Kerala for Israeli travellers, in short
Kerala is India's greenest and calmest state, which is why so many Israelis who have done the north or the backpacker trail come here for a slower second trip. You get tea hills in Munnar, wildlife in Thekkady, a private houseboat on the Alleppey backwaters, and quiet beaches at Varkala and Marari, all within a few hours' drive of each other.
Kerala also has a story that Israelis will recognise. Fort Kochi's Jew Town and the Paradesi Synagogue, built in 1568, are among the oldest Jewish heritage sites in India, and they are an easy, rewarding half day in Kochi. Most Israeli guests plan 8 to 14 nights and fly into Kochi with one stop.
Every Iris Holidays trip is private. You get an air-conditioned car, an English-speaking driver, hotels approved by you before booking, and a named trip designer. We are a Government of India-approved tour operator based in Kochi, so the person planning your trip is in Kerala, not at a call centre abroad

Kerala trips from Israel: common questions
Do Israelis need a visa for Kerala?
Yes. Israeli passport holders need a visa for India. Most apply online for the e-Tourist Visa through the official Government of India portal, ideally 3 to 4 weeks before travel. Rules can change, so confirm on the official site.
Are there direct flights from Tel Aviv to Kerala?
Direct flights to Kerala are not usual. Most travellers connect once, for example via Mumbai, Delhi, a Gulf hub or Istanbul, and land in Kochi (COK). Check current schedules before booking.
How many days do I need for Kerala?
Plan at least 7 to 9 nights to see Munnar, Thekkady, a houseboat in Alleppey and a beach. Two weeks lets you add Varkala, Kumarakom, a Fort Kochi heritage day or an Ayurveda stay.
What is the best month to visit Kerala from Israel?
November to March is dry and comfortable, though December is the busiest and most expensive month. June to September is the monsoon: green, quiet and cheaper, and good for Ayurveda. April and May are hot and humid.
What does a Kerala trip cost?
Tours start from ₹2,950 per person, twin share, excluding international flights. Your quote shows the exact price for your dates, hotels and route.
Can you plan around kosher or vegetarian food and Shabbat?
Yes, tell your trip designer your needs when you enquire. Vegetarian and vegan food is easy to find across Kerala, and we plan meals, hotels and driving days around your requirements
Is Kerala safe for Israeli travellers?
Kerala is one of India's most visited and relaxed states, and a private driver means you avoid crowded public transport. Take normal care with valuables, and check the latest guidance from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Security Council before you book.
Can I visit Jewish heritage sites in Kochi?
Yes. Fort Kochi's Jew Town and the Paradesi Synagogue (built in 1568) are an easy half day, and we can add them to any trip that starts or ends in Kochi. Opening days vary, so we plan around the synagogue's schedule.
Will someone meet me if my flight lands at night?
Yes. Our drivers meet arrivals at any hour and track your flight. We keep the first day light so you can rest.
