Old Harbor Hotel is the first European (Dutch) hotel opened in India, in the 17th century. It was a rest house to the dutch sailors,and guests of Dutch and Kochi kingdoms.
Old Harbor houses overlooks the Cochin Harbor like many of the existing hotel turned heritage properties across Fort Kochi.
Old Harbor Hotel is one of the few hotels in India, that supports Green movement and Organic movement. It has its own vegetable garden, to ensure it serves all organic foods. As a result, the hotel won Green Globe-Earth Check Lite 2009 Award for its sustainable eco-friendly practices.
Accommodation
Old Harbor Hotel has thirteen spacious rooms named after the various old streets of Fort Cochin. The rooms are plush with high ceilings; the colonial styled windows provide a view into a courtyard with a fountain or over the ancient Chinese Fishing nets.
The garden cottages, which were added to offer a feel of Kerala, have open-to-the-sky showers, a veranda and a private pond.

Home made breads and plenty of freshly squeezed juices are a priority in Old Harbor Hotel. Due to its closeness to the Cochin Fishing nets, the cuisine of the hotel has a special seafood menu with a barbecue every night in the garden.

The Chinese fishing nets at 1 Km is the major nearby attraction. Other attractions include Mattanchery Palace, Bolgatty Island, Vallarpadam Basilica, and so on…which is with in the a radius of 15 Km from the hotel. The best among these is a stroll through the famous Fort Kochi lanes which is a combination of Portuguese-Dutch Kochi and the new Kochi.
